The cohort sync enrolment method will allow you to enrol users into a course based on the cohort that they have been placed in. This means that when users are added to a cohort, any courses where that cohort has a cohort sync enrolment method in place will be automatically enrolled into that course.
Step 1. Enter the course that you’d like to enrol this cohort into.
Step 2. Select the COG icon in the top right hand corner
Step 3. Select More
Step 4. Select Users tab
Step 5. Select Enrolment methods
Step 6. From the drop down, select Cohort Sync
Step 7. Complete the fields for setting up a cohort sync.

Custom instance name |
Add a custom instance name. If you’d like this cohort sync to have the same name as the cohort then leave this field blank |
Active |
The cohort sync to be active by default. If you want to make the sync inactive until a particular time, select No from the dropdown list. |
Cohort |
Select the cohort which will be enrolled using this cohort sync. You must create an individual cohort sync per cohort requiring enrolment into this course. This is a required field. |
Assign role |
This will assign the chosen role to ALL users in this cohort. You can choose from the following.

Add to group |
If you would like to create a new course group, or add this cohort to an existing course group, you can select from the following:

Step 8. Once you have completed filling in the fields, scroll to the bottom of the screen and select Add Method.
The cohort sync has now been setup.
