This will allow you to bulk upload user profile images.
Step 1. Login as an administrator and select Administration
Step 2. Select Site Administration
Step 3. Select Users tab
Step 4. Scroll down and find Accounts category
Step 5. Select Upload user pictures
Step 6. You can now upload the the file containing user images and set your preferences, by dragging and dropping it into the drop zone or using the file picker.
Please note, you must create a .zip file from a folder which contains the user profile images.
This is the only file format that will be accepted. The folder name doesn’t have to follow any set convention and can be named anything you like.
Each of the user images must be named to match one of the following user fields:
- Username
- idnumber
- id
And must be in one of the below file formats, otherwise they won’t be accepted.
- .png
- .jpeg
- .gif
Step 7. Set the user attribute to use to match pictures. This must match the convention that you used to name the user image files.
Step 8. Select whether you would like to overwrite existing user pictures? This will replace any existing user pictures with the ones being uploaded.
Step 9. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and select Upload user images.
Step 10. You will then receive a report of successful and unsuccessful updates.
The images have been successfully updated.
Troubleshooting
If you do have unsuccessful results. You can find where there was an error for the unsuccessful updates.
These could be:
- Duplicate values
- Incorrect file name
- Incorrect file type
Once you have fixed the error, you can re-upload the files. You do not have to re-upload all files, only those that resulted in an error.
