Role preset files allow you to move a custom role from one Moodle platform to another.
Step 1. Login as an administrator select Administration
Step 2. Select Site Administration
Step 3. Select Users tab
Step 4. Scroll down the page to find the Permissions category
Here you will see a list of roles that currently exist on your LMS.
Export a role to create a preset file
Step 1. Follow steps 1 - 4
Step 2. From the list of user roles that you have within your LMS, select the role that you’d like to export and click on the role link.
Step 3. Select Export
The file should now download and should be accessible in your computers downloads session. The name of the file should appear as the <selected role>.xml e.g. manager2.xml.
Import a role preset file
Step 1. Follow steps 1- 4
Step 2. Select Add a new role
Step 3. Drag and drop or select the role preset file into the drop zone provided.
Step 4. Select Continue
Step 5. Select Create this role
The role has now been imported
