Step 1. Login as an administrator and select Administration.
Step 2. Select Site Administration.
Step 3. Click Courses tab.
Step 4. The Course and Category management page gives you the Categories, Sub categories and Course map.
Select the course you want to set the format for.
Step 5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to view the course settings and details.
Step 6. Click Edit.
Step 7. Scroll down to the Course Format section.
Step 8. Click the Format list box to find a list of all available formats.
Select the required format from the Format drop down list box.
Step 9. Choose the required format from the list.
Each format will give you a set of options to customize the look.

The grid format is a modular and visual course format. It hides all topics and creates a grid of icons (one for each topic) with short titles. |

The menutopic format allows you to display the topics/sections of the course in a menu. |

The Onetopic format shows each topic in a tab, keeping the current tab between calls to resources, in such a way that when it returns from a module as the blog or the glossary it returns to tab from where you started. |

The single activity format only has one section, and allows the teacher to add one activity only to the course. |

This format is oriented around one main forum, the social forum, which appears listed on the main page. It is useful for situations that are more free form |

The course is organised week by week, with a clear start date and a finish date. Moodle will create a section for each week of your course. |

The course is organised into topic sections that a teacher can give titles to. Each topic section consists of activities, resources and labels. |
Step 10. Click Save and Display
Step 11. You will be redirected to the course page with the formats applied.
