Course Participation report allows a manager, teacher or non-editing teacher (or any other user with the capability report/participation:view) to monitor participation of students within a course. It also allows you the ability to send a message to the students.
Step 1. Login and enter into the relevant course.
Step 2. Click the “Cog” symbol on right hand-side
Step 3. Click “More”
Step 4. From the “Reports” section, click “Course participation”
Step 5. Select the relevant activity from the “Activity module” drop-down list box
Step 6. “Look back” will allow you to choose the period you would like to view for participation reports.
Step 7. “Show Only” drop down will list all the roles and you can choose the relevant role to filter the users accordingly.
Step 8. “Show actions” will enable you to select the actions.
Step 9. Click “Go”
Step 10. You will now see the list of users and the corresponding actions.
Step 11. Use the “Select” checkbox to select the users that needs to be messaged.
Step 12. Select “Send a message” option from the “With selected user” drop-down list box
Step 13. Type the message in the pop-up box that appears and click Enter.
