How to setup the Default Dashboard.
The Dashboard is a customisable page that is able to be setup by administrators allowing administrators, managers, course developers, teachers and students the ability to track their course progress, provide useful information, access to awards in the form of badges or certificates or remind users of any upcoming events or deadlines through a calendar.
The following is a list of blocks that may be added to the dashboard.
Admin bookmarks, Admin Buttons, Administration, Checklist, Comments, Community finder, Completion Progress, Configurable Reports, Course overview, Courses, Global search, Grade Me, HTML, Latest announcements, Latest badges, Learning plans, Log a Ticket, Logged in user, Mentees, Microsoft, Moodledata disk usage, Mootivated, My Team, Navigation, Private files, Products Catalogue, Random glossary entry, Recently accessed items, Remote RSS feeds, Starred courses, Tags, Timeline, Total Available Courses, Total users on system, Upcoming events, Users Course Completion, View Tickets, Webcam Snapshot
Step 1. Login as an administrator and select Administration.
Step 2. Select Site Administration
Step 3. Select the Appearance tab
Step 5. Select Default Dashboard page
Step 6. Select Blocks Editing On
The button 'Blocks Editing On' is active when the 'Blocks Editing Off' is displayed
Step 7. Select the required item from the Add a block list
In the example below, the Calendar has been selected from the list
Step 8. Select Reset Dashboard for all users
The following message should appear indicating that the Dashboard has been reset for all users.
"All Dashboard pages have been reset to default."
