User details, codes and API key MUST be obtained from eCreators/Open LMS before you are able to use Instilled in any of your courses. |
Instilled is a plugin that provides video-based learning for the user and has a number of features that administrators can perform.
These features apart from recording and uploading videos include the following:
- The ability to add clickable chapters within your content so users can skip directly to relevant parts of the video that may apply to the user or be used to refresh aspects of the learning experience.
- Synchronize resource materials (eg PDFs and PowerPoint slides) next to your recorded videos.
Step 1. Select Site Administration
Step 2. Select Plugins
Step 3. Select the Instilled plugin
Step 4 Enter the following information from eCreators or Open LMS
Username | The Instilled username used to obtain an API Key |
API Key | An API Key must be obtained from eCreators or Open LMS to use this activity module |
Tenant URL | The URL for your Instilled instance |
Default Container ID | This is the ID of the container on Instilled that will store videos by default |
Teacher Group ID | This is the ID of the group on Instilled that has access to upload and edit videos |
Step 5. Select the Save Changes button
Step 6. Select a Course to enter the Instilled activity
Step 7. Select Add an Activity or Resource
Step 8 Select Instilled Video
Step 9. Add a Title to the video and then to add your videos to the Instilled Library, select the Instilled Media Gallery link
Step 10. Drag and drop or Browse for your videos to insert into the following field
Step 11. With the Video uploaded, select the button to perform the following functions.
- Edit the Title and Description
- Content Editor
- Delete Resource
Step 12. Add or edit the Title and Description of the Video
Step 13. Add or Edit content (eg Chapters or Resources) into your Video
- Features include Add, Edit or Remove comments, resources (eg pdf's), chapters or markers, slides, captions.

Step 14. Select Delete Resource if the Video is no longer required
Step 15. The content editor automatically saves, so select your course link once finished with the Video content.
Step 16. Select the Edit settings button
Step 17. Complete any other settings for the course and Save the details
Step 18. The video is ready to be selected and played with all your chapters, resources (eg pdf's) and edits inserted into the video.
