The Conditional Profile Field Plugin will allow you to create condition profile fields that appear when a user selects an option to a prior field.
Please note. You must have all of the fields that are exposed when the conditional option is chosen before you create the conditional fields.
Step 1. Select Site Administration
Step 2. Select Users Tab
Step 3. Select User Profile Fields
Step 4. From the 'Create a new profile field' dropdown selection, choose 'Conditional Field'
Step 5. Configure the field as you would a drop-down menu a custom profile field.
For more information about custom profile field configurations read the How to Create a Custom User Profile Field Instructions. Follow the instructions until the end of Step 7.
Step 6. Select Configure Conditions
Step 7. Choose from the list of previously set profile fields, which will become a conditional field when an option is chosen.
For each menu item choose whether the field is required to be filled in or and if it will be hidden when the option is chosen. If neither is chosen, the profile field isn't made conditional.
In this example, if Yes is chosen the Organisation will be shown. If No is chosen, the Organisation field will be hidden.
Step 8. Select whether the conditional fields are hidden initially or not.
- Yes - none of the fields that may hide are displayed initially. Some new fields may appear when users make a choice
- No - All fields will be displayed. When they make a choice, some fields may disappear once a user makes a choice.
Step 9. Save Changes
Step 10. The conditional field now imposes conditions on other user profile fields.
User asked to make a selection -
Selects Yes - The conditional field is exposed
Selects No - The conditional field remains hidden
